Shoot 11— Victorian Ripper, Grimdark Knight & Viking Marauder

Shoots 11 & 12 were a big step for Team NeoStock, as this was the first time we’d shipped models in from further afield!! We’ve teamed up with two great historical interpreters from the West Country to collaborate on a total of SIX concepts for our libraries, over a two-day shoot…

The overall shoot had a ‘dark historical’ flavour, gritty and cinematic (the NeoStock way!!) Our concepts were: Victorian Ripper, Grimdark Knight, Viking Marauder, Old West Cowboy, and Urban Fantasy.

Here’s a look at the sets from our first day shooting:

Shoot 10 — Medieval Ranger and Urban Fantasy

There has been a desperate lack of female Medieval Ranger / Assassin / Archer concepts in the world of stock photography… We’ve set out to remedy that, with an intense new set starring our new model Liepa!!

Aside from the Medieval Assassin concept, we also captured some great Urban Fantasy shots, which are always versatile for a wide range of genres.

Here’s a look at some of our favourites from the shoot.

Shoot 5 – Gypsy Witch, Victorian Gothic… and a BONUS!!

Shoot 005 was very exciting for us, for a number of reasons… First up, this was our first go at tackling ‘historical’ concepts, so we got to play with some awesome costumes and props, to create two sets: Gypsy Witch and Victorian Gothic. We threw a cape into the equation, and even got a BONUS set: Warrior Priestess!!

The Gypsy Witch set in particular is very versatile, and proved to be very popular with our Focus Group – these images could be used for a wide range of medieval, summoner, and even pirate concepts.

Take a look at some of the shots we got for each set, hopefully we have the image that you need for your project…

Gypsy Witch:

Battle Ready. Not just a pretty face…

NeoStock - Sahara I Gypsy Witch, Stock Photography

A quiet moment for study…

NeoStock - Sahara I Gypsy Witch, Stock Photography

A deal with the devil…

NeoStock - Sahara I Gypsy Witch, Stock Photography

Summoning the mystic forces…

I’ve always been disappointed with the lack of suitably moody Victorian stocks out there, so we sought to rectify that with this next set.

Victorian Gothic:

NeoStock - Sahara I Victorian Gothic, Stock Photography

The terrible secrets of Blytheford Manor…

NeoStock - Sahara I Victorian Gothic, Stock Photography

A Victorian Classic…

NeoStock - Sahara I Victorian Gothic, Stock Photography

The investigation…

NeoStock - Sahara I Victorian Gothic, Stock Photography

Who goes there?

NeoStock - Sahara I Victorian Gothic, Stock Photography

The lady doth protest…

For the final BONUS set, things got a little more violent, with the use of dagger and sword props!!

Warrior Priestess:

NeoStock - Sahara I Warrior Priestess, Stock Photography

Come hither, to receive the sacrament…

NeoStock - Sahara I Warrior Priestess, Stock Photography

The battle hard-won…

NeoStock - Sahara I Warrior Priestess, Stock Photography

The double cross…

A Dark Fable…

Entering the threshold…

We’ll be bringing it back to more contemporary subject matter for our next shoot, focusing on a series of Action Thriller images, for Crime, Spy / Espionage, and high octane concepts.

Shoot 004 — Classic Zombie & Killer Redneck

Shoot 004 was an exciting one for the team as this was our first ‘Makeup FX extravaganza’… a HORROR special that really showcases the cinematic-level of production value that we’re striving for.

The first segment of the shoot, was ‘Killer Redneck’ – a particularly nasty concept, where the props we had to hand were equally ugly!!

If you thought our redneck was intense… things got seriously schlocky for the ‘Classic Zombie’ segment of the shoot, where NeoStock makeup artist Dave Fox displayed his mastery of the craft:

NeoStock - Mike II Classic Zombie, Stock Photography

For our next ‘Horror Shoot’, we’ll be working with a female model on ‘Classic Zombie’, and ‘Demonic Possession’ concepts – and I’m sure it will be a blast, just like this one. Seriously good fun!!

Shoot 003 – Urban Fantasy & Government Agent Stock Photography

The gears are really moving here at NeoStock… After many rounds of feedback in our Focus Group, we took onboard all the comments to make our next Urban Fantasy set even better than before.

The main requests were more ‘dynamic’ poses / facial expressions, inclusion of a bladed weapon, and a long trenchcoat. These suggestions definitely resulted in much more powerful shots, as you can see:

Jade IV Urban Fantasy Stock Photography

Contemplating revenge…

Jade III Urban Fantasy Stock Photography

Summoning the mystic energies…

Jade I Urban Fantasy Stock Photography

X-Men pose!!

The second half of the shoot was focused on a more sedate ‘Government Agent’ concept — a series of stock photography images that would suit Espionage / Thriller concepts.

We’re working on improving the tactical poses / trigger discipline for these shots. Not totally perfect yet, but getting there!!

Shoot 002 Previews – Assassin / Urban Fantasy

Shoot 002 was a great success, we managed to get a great selection of images – and ALSO, extremely helpful feedback from our Focus Group for future shoots.

Our two concepts were Urban Fantasy, and Tactical Assassin. For future Urban Fantasy concepts, we’ll definitely be incorporating bladed weapons, and more ‘dynamic’ / action oriented poses.

Photography by Tom Parsons, modelled by Catarina Alfonso, makeup by Beauty by Ruby. Shot at Fire Eye Land Studios (Margate, UK).

Our first Stock Photography shoot: Military

Our first stock photography shoot went really well. For our first concept, we worked with prominent Milsim / Airsoft Youtuber RandomTrashy and photographer Tom Parsons to produce a military series with Mercenary / Infantry concepts.

LOTS of useable images, our library starts with a bang!! Here’s a teaser from the collection:

Tim Military Infantry / Mercenary

For our next collection, we’ll be producing ‘Female Tactical Assassin’ and ‘Contemporary Heroine’ concepts… Moodboards and teasers coming soon…

Be sure to join us at the NeoStock FB Focus Group, where you get to have a say in the images we produce 🙂
